Charles Oliveira

He builds a multi-factor case (likely better striker, Gamrot lacking the power to punish it, competitive grappling, home-country setting), explicitly weighs and dismisses the one real counter (a recent-knockout chin question), and names Oliveira as his side twice in direct succession.

Solid striker with a Muay Thai-influenced game -- real power, dangerous in the pocket, and especially skilled at walling opponents against the fence so they cannot circle away, though his striking defense is a real hole. Solid, differently-styled grappler who has recently shown a genuinely good double leg, chains submission attempts together well, and uses elbows to open those attempts up. Stepping in as the hometown fighter in Brazil against Gamrot, the visiting replacement opponent. A recent, well-known knockout loss raises a fair chin question, which the analyst weighs and ultimately dismisses.

The pick is stated as settled but is undercut by a real hedge on the win itself: roughly half the breakdown is spent on how live Oliveira still is to finish him. Separately, the analyst flags that the price makes Topuria poor betting value here (wager caution, kept apart) and admits he will be rooting for Oliveira (fan disclosure, not a hedge per corpus rule).

Oliveira is read as dangerous everywhere: a high-volume, crashing striker who fights 'like a car wreck', a brutal clinch fighter, and a submission threat who chains attacks together and has recently added more real takedowns to his game. The cost of that volume is that he gets hit and has been dropped in many fights before.

Explicit and reasoned by method: he states Oliveira as his pick because he expects the finish. He gives an explicit theory for why (Tsarukyan can win rounds, Oliveira historically doesn't survive winning-minutes fights to decision, so Oliveira needs a finish) rather than a bare assertion, and the only qualifier is on the finish method (knockout rather than submission), which per the confidence bar does not demote a win-level pick.

Solid, high-volume striker at range (straights, teeps) who is also dangerous and willing to trade in the pocket, cutting off the cage effectively -- but his striking defense is suspect and he sometimes gets knocked down as a result. His real weapon is elite BJJ: very good sweeps, dangerous off his back, constant submission hunting with elbows from either position that make ground-and-pound difficult against him.

He says plainly 'the pick is still Islam Makhachev,' granting Oliveira only a real but narrow route via an early knockout or TKO finish.

A relentlessly aggressive striker with real power in his hands and a notable length edge over his opponent, rated by the analyst as clearly the more dangerous man early on, unconcerned about getting hit or taken down as long as he is doing damage. He defends him against a 'no chin' criticism, saying he has a great chin and tends to fall to the ground rather than get knocked out, and rates him a serious threat from his back.
