Tim Means

Means is the stated winner, but the surrounding language undercuts it: the analyst pairs his usual drink-and-watch line with direct advice to treat this as a spectator fight rather than a bet, then admits afterward he doesn't feel strongly convicted -- together that pushes the grade to coinflip despite a named winner.

A durable, high-volume pocket striker whose clinch work with elbows is singled out as his best weapon. His takedown defense is named directly as the reason he loses fights, which matters here against a wrestling-first opponent. The analyst treats both men as faded veterans who each have the tool the other fears, which is the core reason the pick ends up so lightly held.

Sides with the younger, faster corner but calls Means 'a live dog' and admits 'it's hard to pick him.'

A good striker at 40 who still works well in the pocket and shifts smoothly into the clinch, where nasty, cutting elbows are one of his best weapons; good volume and clean combinations back it up. Takedown defense has given him trouble historically, though he is not expected to be badly outgrappled here since both men are primarily strikers, and he is credited with still having gas left in the tank at his age. The analyst states outright that Means is past his prime.

Describes both men as close stylistic twins on the feet and says the matchup "comes down to" picking a side mainly on the age gap rather than a stated skills edge -- a thin tie-breaker rather than a given mechanism.

A striker who operates well in the pocket with good volume and combinations, and who turns especially dangerous in the clinch, where his elbows are rated nasty. His takedown defense is unremarkable, shared with his opponent, and he carries enough cardio for a full three-round pace. The analyst frames this as primarily a kickboxing match between two similar strikers, ultimately favoring the other man mainly because of the age gap between them.

The pick sentence itself states explicit outcome doubt -- 'not confident in this pick... not confident' -- and he says he would rather watch than bet it, which is a doubt about the winner, not merely about price.

A fighter who thrives at close range, described as nasty in the clinch, working elbows and body shots with good volume. He is well into his thirties and recently lost a competitive fight to a younger opponent, which the analyst frames partly as a general consequence of aging reducing a fighter's ability to execute skills he still has. Still, the analyst says he can 'still hang' at this stage of his career.
